NINH VAN BAY
This specific Six Senses property has been on my bucket list ever since I came across it on Instagram years ago. It’s a chain hotel company known for their luxury, wellness located in some of the most unique & desirable destinations in the world. Some of their most popular properties you have probably come across online are located in Maldives and Seychelles.
If you plan on going to Vietnam I highly recommend checking out their other property as well which is located in Con Dao. Unfortunately it's nowhere close to this property as it's on the other side of Vietnam but it also looks like a beautiful property and it's already added into my bucket list for the next time we are in Vietnam.
G E T T I N G T H E R E :
As you know some of the most beautiful properties in the world are always hidden gems and getting to them is never easy. Six Senses Ninh Van Bay is no different, the property requires a flight into Cam Ranh airport (~1hr flight from Ho Chi Minh), followed by an hour car ride and ~30 min boat ride. Property will take care of all the transportation from airport and back so you only need to book the main flights! Prior to booking make sure to research the different types of properties as there are two different sides of overwater villas located on the rocks. Each villa is very unique and is placed on different parts of rock formations so if you have been eyeing one you want to stay at I recommend contacting the property to find out which villa exactly that is. They also offer beach villas, but if you're traveling all the way to Vietnam and then to Ninh Van Bay I highly recommend staying in a villa that's located above water on rock formations. The entire property is extremely spread out and is super private so most likely you will only see someone only during breakfast/ dinner or activities like a bbq that's organized by the property where all the guests join.
- Wellness drinks was an interesting addition to make a stay so much more special. Before every meal breakfast/lunch/dinner you receive a wellness "mini shot" that changes throughout the day and daily, that way you never have same thing twice.
- Fire show cocktail party happened while we were there on the last night. We were told that there is events that take place once a week where all the guests are welcome to attend. This was a highlight of our stay there as we finally got to see who was staying at the property! As mentioned it's super private so most likely you will only run into a few people throughout your entire stay unless you attend one of these fun gatherings organized by the property.
- Unique cocktails. As ya'll know I love a good cocktail so this was a fun addition for me as Adam is more of a beer guy. Bartenders of the property have created their own specialty drinks and then competed against each other, top 3 cocktails that ranked the highest are added on the menu for all to enjoy! All of those were delish and I couldn't even pick my favorite if you asked.
- Endangered monkeys. You can see them throughout lunch time as that's when they're the most active traveling through the lower part of the property by the beach. They're aware of humans and don't bother anyone so don't bother/try feeding them. Watch them, take a video and let them enjoy their life.
- Rocks formations. These specific rocks can only be seen in a few countries, one of them being here in Ninh Van Bay and the other being Seychelles, Mauritius. If you have never experienced this specific beauty of nature I highly recommend visiting one of the two places to enjoy it as they're truly amazing.
- Language barrier. Originally my hubby has told me that when he was in Vietnam over 10 years ago no one spoke English so we were ready with out translator apps to step in if we needed to. However, we were pleasantly surprised in both places of Vietnam - here and in Ho Chi Minh as everyone's English was perfect! Don't let the idea of English barrier ever stop you from exploring different countries.
